The GS-512i is a 512-channel gamma-ray spectrometer suitable for use within the mining sector on mineral exploration projects. Utilising gamma spectrometry, it aids in the location of mineral ore deposits by measuring the concentrations of naturally occurring isotopes. It comes equipped with a number of excellent features to make the users task easier including flash memory, various channel ranges, spectrum stabiliser a graphical LCD screen and weighs in at only 1.5 kg. It can be used with both an external power source or batteries and is encased in a tough, rugged housing. As such, this device is intended for use by professionals and is ideal within the mining, mineral exploration and land remediation sectors.
Basic Specifications:
Portable Gamma-Ray Spectrometer, the GS-512i is a 512-channel gamma-ray spectrometer. Specifically for field use within the mining sector for mineral exploration projects, aiding in the location of potential ore deposits. Utilising gamma spectrometry, the instrument works by measuring the concentrations of naturally occurring isotopes. K, U, Th, and total activities in uranium equivalent concentration [ppm Ueq]. Further, the spectrometer also allows you to setup, up to four ROI’s (Region Of Interest). This further allows you to measure pulse counts in user-defined channels or energy ranges. Additionally, it has a built-in FLASH memory for storing up to 7,500 complete spectra and is equipped with a pile-up rejector for the detection of double peaks. Which enables a higher quality of the measuring spectrum at high pulse rates and performs spectrum stabilization.
In addition, a built-in wireless Bluetooth technology enables communication with an external device using such as a computer or a GPS. Further, it can also be remotely controlled in this way using the ‘SgDataGS’ PC application. As standard, the GS-512i comes with the GSP-3 probe containing a 3-inch NaI(Tl) scintillation crystal.
The Portable Gamma-Ray Spectrometer is ideal for site use. The instrument is portable and robust, held within a watertight fitting, and comes in a shockproof carry case. Using six LR6 AA batteries with a charger for its power source. However, it can connect to an external power supply allowing use from mobile, laboratory, and stationary installations.
