It features a head with a pointed tip. Ideal for chipping and prying rock, or extracting fossils samples and crystals. On the opposite side, you will find the usual, flat striking face which is excellent for breaking large pieces down or crushing aggregate. The Estwing E30 rock pick has a moderate weight, making it easy to control, while not heavy to carry. It provides adequate force behind each strike. The shaft has brushed steel, which is lacquered to improve the shelf life and appearance.
Like other Estiwng tools, it features a single piece of double-tempered American steel. The handle is covered in leather binding. This has excellent absorption properties, acting as a shock-reduction grip. A steel end cap for safety is at the bottom of the handle. Together with the leather, they maintain a classical style in appearance. Harking back to the yesteryears of rock breaking and geology.
